Tent camping 4x4 off road trailer

Saw this on ebay if anyone is interested. The trailer is in Hesperia.

That's not bad for $500. Although that tent looks pretty flimsy. The trailer itself is worth the money though.

Just pm'd the guy. The current price is $500 and the reserve is not met. I asked him what the reserve was - my guess is north of $1500.

If it's at all reasonable I'll try to talk my wife into jumping on it - but I won't spend more then $1000 on a trailer with no running water that isn't cool like Lawrences - I can get a used popup for cheap that will suit my needs.

At least you wouldn't have to paint it jeff. So you'll be saving the cost of 5 rattle cans of red paint if you get it.

That isn't Chile Pepper Red.

It became clear at the lakebed that Lawrence's Aussie trailer is clearly too much for his Frenchness. I think since THIS ebay trailer matches his Red Jeep he should buy it and give me his Kimberly Kamper.

Deal Lawrence?

The tent is not that bad. A friend of mine has one for his pickup truck and it is pretty cool, same material has a regular tent. I agree that it looks a bit strange on the trailer and I think that if the tailgate were adjusted to fold down horizontally, it would help with the front section.

If you can snatch this thing for $500-$1,000, you could sell the tent and buy my rooftop one. I have one sitting in my garage, brand new, still in the box. The dimensions are approximately 42"x72" folded and 84"x72" unfolded (King size bed). If I remember well, I paid $380 shipped to my door and I would sell it at that price to any of you.

Then, put a water tank and Blaine's super duper water heater in the trailer box under the tent, add a few connections, and you have running water and hot water for a shower. Add a PETT with the privy and you have a bathroom.

Sorry Jeff, but no deal. It is nice having a comfortable bed to sleep on. A few more mods and it will be better than a Motel room. Blaine and I have been talking and next on the agenda is a hot water heater and a hydronic heating system to keep the Kamper nice and toasty. Stay tuned.

On a side note Jeff, get a big trailer like a 22-24ft Airstream and this JK to tow it. I think the 392 Hemi would do the job 5 days left and already at $43K

Just find some utility trailer someone wants to get rid of on Craigs list for $500 and bolt Lawrence's tent on top of it. For a couple $100 more here or there, you'll end up with a pretty nice camping trailer, with a little work.

Something like this (there have been better ones for JV camping, but it's an example)

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/rvs/490565768.html

Or just buy a pop tent. If you can't find a decent pop tent on Craigs list for $1200, you aren't looking.

How about you build your own adventure trailer, british style?

I don't know what this is, but you can't beat free, right?

Shalom is right, if you find something and need the tent, let me know. No rush though.

If you guys are looking for camping trailers, I have a couple of canadian military trailers for sale here in Big Bear. $40 worth of olive drab krylon and they look goos as new! We bought several to make into cheap camping trailers for rentals here in Big Bear. Frank brought back 8 of them from canada, I think he is asking $1,100 and they are in pretty good shape. We are having lids bent up and will be putting ARB tents on top on our rentals. Retail on a ARB tent is $1300.

In theory you could have a super duper base for a nice camping trailer for about $2600 or so.

I'll post up pictures when we get our 3 rentals built. I should be geeting them done in a couple of weeks.
