Joe started the wind blowing last year and it didn't quit until after the race and it only let up when it was raining.

So, it was cold, blustery, almost miserable, and showed no signs of improving until we started packing up to go home.

The weather will have to work at it to be worse than it was last year and short of a snow storm, it's got to be better than what you've been getting in WA.

Seriously:

I'm looking for input on this...

I'm making the trip out there from PA, and want to be prepared.

Should I pack for snow, with the option of sunbathing weather?

I only know I will have enough warm clothes with me so I will have to waddle between the fire and my trailer at night... likely enough to equip a small army. I froze on my two previous trips to JV but not on my last trip... I learned my lesson well.

I'm going to be wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I'll still bring a jacket, just in case.

I do believe that Chris would be wearing shorts and a t-shirt (possible jacket) if it was -20* and snowing sideways...

In all seriousness, pack for wind driven snow with the ability to drop layers off down to T-shirt and shorts.

Over the past Thanksgivings we've been there, it has ranged from blinding snow the day before we got there to over 85?F in the daytime.

And here we thought the waddle was due to a full depends.

When are you arriving Jerry? I'll be arriving Sunday and will be wheelin' as much as I can without being in the way before the race.

Larry, I'll be getting there either Wednesday evening right after work or possibly early as possible Thursday morning. My new job hours are until 6pm so getting out there before late Wednesday evening will be tough.

Hmmm, I may have to sneak out that way a bit earlier than planned, didnt realize anyone was heading out before Wed.

This will probably be my last Jeep Hurrah for the season, may as well make it count

Im a firm believer in that everything you say and do lead to some sort of a positive outcome. I dont have room in my life for negative people or thoughts.

Though he owns a few pair of Levi's, Ive only seen him wear them twice.

We had an overnight layover in Switzerland on the way to Spain, it was below freezing out. We walked around Zurich, it was snowing. The shuttle driver asked if we were from Southern California

I was stationed in 29 Palms in the early 90s. I remember one Feb afternoon, It was in the mid 80s, so I took the top and doors off the Jeep for a trip to Yucca Valley. A couple hours later, I was huddled against the heater driving home in the snow

Point being, the weather in the high desert is unpredictable..at best. Count on it being very cold at night.

One last comment, make sure you have antifreeze in your coolant. Last year, a couple guys woke up with freeze plug issues when their coolant system froze the first night.
