Arnold isn't taking visitors and the rest of the town is too full of politicians & lobbiests so your best bet is to head east over to Lake Tahoe and hit the 21 tables. I was gonna say Lake Tahoe and the area is beautiful to visit too but you're from Alaska and used to way more impressive scenery than that.

Tahoe would be nice but we have to be at the hospital twice a day for the next week. Any suggetions on a good BBQ joint?

Whatever reason your daughter is in for surgery, I hope things turn out well and I wish the best for her. Visiting her in the hospital twice a day for a week doesn't sound like the surgery was for anything minor like I was hoping it was.

All is well, surgery was last month. We are here this time to getting her cast removed and a rigourous physical therapy session (the twice a day part) before returning back home.

Can anyony give me directions from UC Davis. The filters here at the hospital will not let me search for this.

I tried but the only 5th & Main Google found was in Woodland, 18 miles from Sacramento. Then I called Sacramento information and they couldn't find a Stinky's BBQ anywhere, I couldn't even find it via Google. Maybe Stinky's is no longer in business, that's all I can think of.
Here is the Google search result for barbeque restaurants in and around Sacramento. Damn this is making me hungry, I'm going out for a BBQ sandwich for lunch. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...+barbe&gs_rfai= |

Hit the old town, the train museum is pretty cool. Not sure if their steam engine rides along the river are open.
Sutter's Fort. http://www.foxandgoose.com/ - English pub for a very good breakfast. |

Well we have done Old Sac, the Train Museum with the short train ride for the girls, the Zoo, and the Jelly Belly factory (not sure this one was a good idea for a two and four year old). This weekend was definetely pushing the toasty factor for the girls and I. Add to that some idiot teenager that barely spoke english hitting the rental (thank god not badly), I think I may have an allergy to this town. Or at least all the stuff that decided to bloom this weekend.
I did try some BBQ. We went to both Texas West and MacQues. They were OK, but far from the best I have ever had. Well two days to go.
