Details would help

Saturday and Sunday. We will do the "standard" run with Sandstone Canyon at the end, pretty fun spot to get into a whole heck of a lot of trouble, er I mean fun.

JU crowd knows about this part, and this part only.

The second part is that we will camp where ever we feel like and then run Truckhaven/Ocitillo where they hold Tierra del Sol on Sunday, leaving Sunday afternoon for home. I didn't let the JU folks know about this, so camping will be peacefull and all that, and leaves the smaller core group to run amok at TDS area. That area is good for a group to switch leaders as you run around. I crumpled a fender there last time.

I don't know. I haven't thought of it backwards or anything. Truckhaven seems like an ending point and all.. but I guess. It'd be harder with a crowd.

I'm out too, I'm doing the Dusy-Ershim trail with the parental unit and younger brother. I'm even getting the wife to join me on her 3rd Jeep outing ever. Advice from anybody who has been there is appreciated.

No one want's to go wheeling with me..

It's not my JU personality carrying over is it?

Jeff,

Since you've decided to the "doosey" I wanna know how cool it is.. It's on my "wanna do" list.. once my Jeep is ready.

Ha Ha William, it is your JU personality carrying over! That is a good thing, BTW. A sense of humor and thick skin are lost concepts over there. Don't get me wrong, there are some fine people there, but seemingly just as many twits as well.

As for the Dusy, I've heard mixed reviews on it. Some say it is harder than the Rubicon and others say it's easier. I'll let you know what comes of it. This, and another possible trip to the Rubi' in early Oct. will hopefully be warmups for J.V

Jeff,

Blaine is talking about the fence sitting forum. Because I'm sitting on a fence right now and can't decide about something.. and it's one of those "smoking deal things"...

William,
Sight unseen, I can tell you to take the smokin' deal!
I passed one up not long ago and have been kicking my own butt. Money saved now is money you can spend later, and maybe avoid some grief that's probably coming down the line.
Am I close?

William,

Your best bet is to post it to the forum, we'll convince you it's imprudent and then we'll snake in on the deal pullin' a MattBrew faster than you can blink an eye. J/K ofcourse.

Seriously, I don't know what your pondering, but I can tell you that nearly everytime I pondered a decision based on money and ended up purchasing anyway I never missed the money after the fact (even when I was a dead broke graduate during the depression, er recession of the early 90's). That's not to say I didn't regret purchases, but usually it was quality/usefullness and not cost.

This wouldn't have anything to do with a stock TJ D44 for sale, now would it?

Good luck with your decision, you must be torn, huh?

Jeff

{edit} Didn't mean to sound as preachy as it seems, I just know you like to bounce things off the wall a bit and see what sticks. Good luck!

William,

Spend the money, you know you want to and the wife will stop bringing it up after a while. ( she will never forget it)

I am still not sure that I am going to be there all weekend but I will make the run with you on Saturday.

William,

I worked last weekend and will have to work Saturday for sure and maybe Sunday this weekend. Tends to cut down on my wheeling time.

Scott,

I'll see you Saturday, I think Sandstone Canyon will make it worthwhile, if you can't make it, just let me know... You've been doing a lot of wheeling and I'd hate to have to rent you a room cause your "Land lord" gave you the boot!

Fred,

I'm going to think of a plan for Truckhaven on where we can meet. Give me a little bit. We (Sean and I, if he is still in) be camping around there, and I'll try to make it an easy meet.

Jeff,
I saw this over on RAMWJ. It is a write-up
from JB Jennifer on the Dusy.
Have fun.

Bruce

For your entertainment...the trip report from the Dusy Trail is at: http://www.crosswinds.net/~jbjeep/dusytxt.htm

Pictures are NOT up yet - I am still scanning and building the page...come to think of it, links to this page are not up on
the main site yet either. =( It will be a week or so yet.

-jennifer (I'm scanning as fast as I can...)
