A little routine maintenance and a cracked control arm bracket..
I decided to do a little routine maintenance on the wonderfull Dana 35, like pull the Superior axles and Detroit and check everything out (kind of like a refresher course in rear ends). All the innards are fine but found I cracked the upper control arm bracket on the drivers side/spring side from front to back. I've seen this before and would imagine it can be welded. Now, I don't mind setting up gears or just about anything mechanical, but I don't know squat about welding. When I get my Mobile Welder ZZ Top kinda guy over to fix it is there anything I should Know? Tricks? Remember, I'm dumb as dirt about welding!
Thanks, Ro

Yes. While he is welding, do not look at the ark.

Clean around the crack to bare metal.
Any paint or dirt/grease will leave porosity in the weld. consequently making it weaker. Bruce

Ron, if you are going to pick on someone for using a boat instead of a rainbow, you should at least get the medium correct. -OCEAN-
It is not who you know, It is who knows you Jeeps do not make jeepers, jeepers make Jeeps.
