Thanksgiving run 2011

Hello all,

as the date is drawing nearer ... who all is planning on attending this year's edition of the 'unofficial' Turkey Run in JV?

Currently I'm still weighing my options as far as 'accomodations' go

We will be there!

This year we are bringing the Turkey, Fryer and Oil and I'm going to make homemade rolls and bring some butter too!

We are looking forward to catching up, and Ron I have a special treat for you! An assortment of homemade Jams that I made.

If anybody needs me to bring anything special, just let me know.

Do we need a list of who's bringing what for Thanksgiving Dinner?

We can bring the usual, stuffing, gravy, plates, napkins, cutlery, cranberry sauce, plus anything else we need that easily transports.

Not many days left now.

I will come over for two, three, or so nights. Not sure when exactly, but I will be there for the Thanksgiving dinner. No matter what I cook, the end result is GARLIC MASHED POTATOES. LOL. I will also bring Sausage Gravy.

The girlfriend is not coming. I froze her butt off the last year; it will be a few years before she forgets that.

if all goes as planned I'll be getting into the campground sometime Saturday afternoon.
For Turkey dinner I'll bring the dessert: appel en kersen flappen (or anything else that still needs to be brought along if we know this beforehand or I'll even go into town on Wednesday night or so)

Made my first foray into the land of JV last weekend, I feel unworthy

Certainly have a lot of work to do on the rig, and a slight change in direction of building (dropped off a paycheck at Savvy for round one...)

Huge, huge thanks to Blaine and Kat for the invitation, hospitality and dinner.

Even bigger thanks to Blaine and Erik for their patience and sharing of knowledge on the trails, and to all who ran the trails with us.

Had such a great time even the truck didn't want to leave, only took three hours to get it started, and then had a blowout on the RV on the way home. Fun times.

Hello all,

as in all the previous years it was a great and appreciated time at JV again.
Great trails, great weather and last but not least: great people to hang out with (even the 'sniveling' ones fall into this category ) and spend good times with on and off the trails.

And the 'hunk o' junk' made it through the week again without any major breakage (AFAIK) and so did the rest of the rigs ...

As your former CA governor would say: I'll be back

Anyone who shot some video or foto's please post links, so I can slowly unwind when I get back to Holland.

PS: and don't throw lithium ion batteries, no matter how small, in the fire .. strange and somewhat dangerous things might happen

Likewise, it was great to see everyone again. Like always we had a great time again this year even though we had to cut our trip a couple of days short.

Had a good trip home and made it back Monday morning. Friday night we camped in the Walmart parking lot, so can check that one off our bucket list.

Now the countdown starts to next year.
