Nikon D70

In case somebody wants to buy a Nikon D70 in the near future. Hold off for a couple of days, there will be a $100 Nikon rebate starting 11/07/04.

Let me know when they have a $1000 rebate - that might put it closer to my price range....

Depending how much more money I loose on the stock market, I will be choosing between Nikon D70, D2X, and Fujifilm S3. I've got some Nikon lenses so it's a natural choice for me. My plan is to have a digital SLR by spring; I have a trip to Australia planned, and I'll try to switch to digital by then.

There is a $500 rebate on Nikon D1X.

You know a $1000 rebate is going to be on something expensive.

I'm afraid to look at the price on that....

The D70 looks like a nice camera, but I'll have to wait until I win the lottery to buy one. Whoever said government employees are overpaid hasn't seen my paycheck.

You must be working for Turkish government, or the government of Botswana.

It is, I'm quite fond of mine. Sergey even liked it.

Damn close - county/state (depends on who is getting raises...we're always the ones not getting them ).

Blaine - If that's the camera used to take the pics on your website, it's definately worth the money - nice pics.

Nope, all of those were taken with a Nikon CoolPix 950.

This is a shot with the D-70

The detail in the D70 pic is really impressive...even on my cheap monitor!

The 950 looks to be more in my price range, though. A lot better than my HP612, too....

That's an interesting to me shot. It is inside the auto focus range so I set it on manual and focused by moving the camera back and forth until it was clear.

TTL is handy.

Alright, I'll call your picture rights and raise you one on site lesson in axle swapping, one remote delivery of brake line repair lesson 101, and finish off with "how to organize, store and carry necessary spare parts volume II.

I'll also toss in rental fees on 1 good balljoint press that just laughs at stubborn balljoints.

When do I need to show up for lessons?
By the way I installed that upper 2 degree ball joint and while doing the sheep inspection thing this weekend the ball joint rotated so the offset is facing the engine instead of facing the rear. Now my wheel is all jacked up on the driver side. I did not need the press to install it. It went in pretty much 3/4 of the way, then I just tapped it in with a block and hammer.
