Something to ponder for May 1st

We have a group of illegal aliens protesting to gain amnesty and become citizens.

Has anyone stopped to think what pay scale they will accept as citizens if this actually happens?

I suspect that if it were to happen, they will refuse to work at the old wages and a new group of illegals will start creeping across to fill the now empty slots vacated by the new citizens with higher earning power.

The circle will be unbroken.

That is exactly the problem.

THat is exactly the thing that is ****ing me off most about this whole immigration debate.

IMO, you can't have amnesty, citizenship, or whatever else you want to call it, with out first closing down the border and making sure no one else gets in illegally.

Close the border first. Start enforcing the laws that are already on the books. Determine what the country's labor needs are. Then lets talk about how we are going to deal with the problem of all the illegals that are here now.

As it stands right now, without border enforcement, whatever is agreed upon finally, is just going to be a big rerun of the anmensty in 1986.

Which means nothing is going to change.
