How 'bout that traffic this morning?

I-15 south bound backs up every day from the 78 to Rancho Bernardo, average speed - 5MPH. Typical morning takes 45 minutes to travel that short stretch.

Today, average speed - 75 MPH!

Wonder why this is??

Matt, same thing here, I am at a starbucks in Montebello, (had a meeting at 10:00), I left my house in Irvine at 8:30, thinking I would time it about right.

I arrived in Montebello at 9:05..

Hmm no traffic..

Nice...

I was actually thinking the same thing.

I had to go down to Long Beach this morning and the 405 was moving at anywhere from 30-75 MPH for the whole stretch.

Normally, at this time, it'd top out at 15MPH for the busy sections and maybe hit 50 MPH in the faster sections.

Crazy.

Same thing here: usually the CA-52 to I-805 interchange is a jam, this morning I didn't have to touch my brake pedal at all.

I had the same experience this morning. However, I'm sure I'm going to be screwed on the drive home (pass right through downtown L.A.). For Pete's sake, I sure hope they don't decide to march along the Hollywood Freeway again.

That's what snow plows are for right?

Traffic for me wasn't any different than usual from Rancho San Diego to South Point Loma.

Here in the Bay area it was the same thing, minimal traffic compared to a normal monday commute.

Maybe cal-Trans should protest against illegal immigrants, it'd definately save them work and money in repairing the roads!!

Same thing in Denver. I missed rush hour, but late morning, early afternoon traffic was smooth sailing. The lesson I learned today is if all the illegals went home, no more traffic jams.
