Talking It's a boy and a girl!

It's a boy and a girl, our first kids. As you can imagine, things are nuts as our new family adjusts.

Last Wednesday, the 26th, we went for a routine prenatal visit at 36-1/2 weeks. With the last few days being very uncomfortable and some extreme swelling of the ankles, it was no surprise that my Heather's usually low blood pressure had gone up a bit. Weighing the risks of continuing, the doctor decided that the kids were to be born that day by c-section and we were to go to the hospital right away.

Anyway, Jackson David (right) was 5 lb. 8 oz. and 19" and Sarah Christine (left) was 5 lb. 10 oz. and 18.5". After a few hours, Jack's breathing was a bit labored so he went to the NICU. Along the way his feeding was a bit lazy and he got a bit jaundiced. We finally got him home on Friday the 5th. Until then, things didn't seem too difficult. Now, we're either feeding or changing diapers around the clock. Things have definitely changed. Wish me luck!

Hi Jeff,

Your babies are gorgeous!!!!! WOW!, and one of each two!

Both you and Heather are truly blessed.

But..... Wish you luck? I don't think so.

Instead I'll wish you both Energy!!!! You're going to need it to keep up with them! (I'm a twin too, and I asked my Dad. He says "energy" that's what you will need most! )

God Bless, and God Blesses! And you just received two of the greatest of them all.

Congratulations!

Frank

congrats!

you just recieved the greatest gifts in the world. nothing is better than having some kids clinging to your legs (and screaming and spitting and biting the cat and peeing allover the place and feeding the dog and clogging the toilet with something important.......)

honestly the kid thing was the best choice i ever made. now go invest in some power bars!!

Congrats Jeff. Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Now I am going to run out and invest in companies that make diapers and baby stuff - with all the kids being hatched around here - looks like there is some money to be made

Congrats man!. Twice the fun and twice the diapers. Try to sleep when you can. That is the thing that helps the most, at least it gets my vote.

Cool

Jeff,

As the father of twins, who are now 32, I can tell you that it's twice the fun and four times the work. Make sure your wife joins the local Mothers of Twins Club. The MOTC will save you a lot of money on clothes and various equipment. I could write a book on bringing up twins, but I'm sure you have already received more advice than you know what to do with, especially from folks who never had twins. Start saving for college now!

Best of Luck,

Fred

Thanks for the well wishes folks. I'll keep those engergy bars in mind. There are times at night that I'm so tired I think I'm gonna' puke! To be honest, though, I don't know if I've ever eaten this well. It seems that everybody wants to feed us whenever they visit. Last night my sister & her husband brought us food from Marcello's, a nice Italian restaurant (filet mignon, breaded chicken, veal chop, chick marsala, two kinds of pasta & sauce, two types of bread, focacia, veggies, salad and a pumpkin and a chocolate pie for desert). Yum!

As for the supplies, I'm going through about 30 diapers a day and have already been hosed by Jack at least 4 times ... and my wife thought breaking in a new puppy was tough? Sheesh!

Someday I'll get to take the Jeep offroad again!
