Suprise Canyon

There is a lady from the LA times doing an article on Surprise Canyon. It is becoming pretty evident that she is basically against the 4WD cause. There is a guided tour being held tomorrow at Suprise Canyon time unknown because no 4WD people were invited. What a surprise! Any way if someone can spare the time and has the legs it would be great to express our view politically or just shut up and bring back their agenda. This is pretty damn important I will drive you up there but four days out of a cast I ain?t hiking anywhere.

Unfortunately, I have a public meeting with regard to work so I'm out. I'd like nothing better though to be there. Maybe we can organize our own "media" event?

Garry, maybe you should limp up there on crutches and say hello to the reporter. Take someone with you in a wheelchair...

Heh, just used on on Monday - I've been dealing with a pretty good head cold

Also, Dan has a pretty good point. How are folks who are not in superman like shape supposed to have any access to the historical sites and Panamint City if vehicle usage is outlawed? The fawking anti-recreationists convieniently ignore that aspect of the discussion all to often - enough to make me think that their purpose is to simply not allow anybody in.

Talking

I don't know Robert. Do you have any friends who are lying, fact twisting, lousy, and bottom feeding sons of bitches?

Some of those may be reporters.

Lawyers are there to get your money. Reporters are there for personal satisfaction they get when they succeed in stamping somebody into dirt.

They just love to play gods with public opinions. They adore the challenge of destroying folks' lives and personal reputations.

Two boys are playing hockey on a frozen pond in a St. Louis, Missouri park when one of the boys is suddenly attacked by a crazed Rottweiller.

Thinking quickly, the other boy takes his hockey stick, shoves it under the dog's collar, twists it, and breaks the dog's neck - thus saving his friend.

A reporter is strolling by, sees the incident, and rushes over to interview the boy. "Young Rams Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal," he starts writing in his notebook.

"But I'm not a Rams fan," the little hero replies.

"Sorry, since we're in St. Louis, I just assumed you were," says the reporter and he starts writing again. "Blues Fan Rescues Friend >From Horrific Attack," he writes in his notebook.

"I'm not a Blues fan either," the boy says.

"Oh, I assumed everyone in St. Louis was either for the Rams or the Blues. What team do you root for?" the reporter asks.

"I'm a Titans fan," the boy replies.

The reporter starts a new sheet in his notebook and writes: "Little Bastard From Nashville Kills Beloved Family Pet."

FWIW, the article came out in this mornings LA Times. I don't think its a hit piece although Marlin comes across as a bit of yayhoo. Another interesting fact, the BLM guy making the decsion on the IER also happens to own 40 acres up by Panamint City This fight just gets weirder and weirder...........

Not a bad article, considering it _is_ the LA Times
