Has Anyone Rented A Trailer For Jeep Transportation
Today is the second time I’ve seen a trailer as big or even bigger than what you guys use to haul your jeeps, on the road, with stickers from one of the equipment rental companies. Last time I think it was Raider this time it was Hertz. I was thinking, instead of getting a trailer of my own and worry about storage, wouldn’t it be easier to rent one when needed? What do you think?
Has anyone ever rented a trailer for jeep? Is it an easy deal? Do you have to book one long in advance, or these trailers are usually readily available? How much does it cost?

Sergey,
This is exactly what I'm gonna' do for next weekend's JV run. It looks like Uhaul charges $50/day. I roughly figure that this would be a cost effective alternative to buying and storing a trailer if you use it 12 days a year or less. You may also be able to find one cheaper at a local rental yard. Be warned that Uhaul is pretty picky about your tow vehicle being up to the task. Jeff

A four-cylinder Toyota Camry should be all right though. Right?

If you go to their website you can make an online reservation. They actually have you enter the make and model of the tow vehicle and towed vehicle to make sure everything's kosher!

Sergey:
For the first six months after I was hooked on JV I rented a small moving truck and trailer from U-haul. I had ample room to cook, sleep and carry all the stuff I needed plus no tent to deal with. Hell my living room was way larger than those mega-buck motor homes. On the down side, reliability of their equipment sometimes leaves allot to be desired. Garry |

Not yet but I'll be doing exactly that in August for my trip to the Rubicon/Fordyce Creek. For the cost of buying a trailer I can do my Tera 4:1 and Warn FF Conversion so a rental trailer it will be this year.

Justin, are you aware that there is a 14' trailer, tandem axle, electric brakes, 5 years old with 1 year old tires, ramps, in GC for sale locally in the club website? Asking $750.00.
