Just saying hey.

Hey!

Good to find out where all you folks went to. And thanks go out to the two people that tipped me about this site on the same day. Its good to be able to go Jeeping again as well, after a few years off. Hope to see some of you on the trail again.

Phil Smith.

Yeah, it took some prodding, but his fading memory cells finally kicked in. What was disturbing was his apparent lack of connection to anyone who also shared his first name.

Welcome.

Hey, Phil Smith is kind of an undercover guy. I never know if he wants to remain anonymous or not! And, as for fading memory, uhhhh, ummm . . . Oh well, I can't remember.

Anyway, WELCOME PHIL SMITH! There seems to be a few of us spread out from the Las Vegas area to Cedar City. We need to get together and go jeeping.

And what's this "SpeedRacer" moniker?

I'm ready! Let me know when!
I plan to explore some more of the Arizona Strip or that area north of Colorado City some time during the last part of October.

Ron,

Phil plans to go to the Canaan Mountain area next Saturday, 20 SEP. I want to go, too, if I'm not in Moab and I have my new distributor installed. They plan on leaving around 8:00 A.M. (I assume from Hurricane?). Check out the "Get Out and Wheel" section for more details.

Phil, I saw the thread and PMed Phil. Monday I'm going to see if I can get reservations at Coral Pink Campground for our fifth wheel. If I can, my wife and I will be there for the weekend. I've been wanting to go there for 25 years but never made it. Sounds like a good time to go!

We will likely leave the pavement at about 8:00 or 9:00 AM, and return to pavement at about 6:00 PM, assuming no breakage (which is unlikely).

I think they mean to leave Coral Pink in the morning.
It sounds like fun!

Ron,
I sent you a PM about the Canaan Mountain trail ride. Leaving the Coral Pink Dunes at 09:00 would be perfect. My e-mail doesn't work right now, but hopefully that is temporary and I can start retrieving e-mails again tomorrow morning.

Phil,
Speedracer? You don't get the Speedracer thing do you Phil. I think I have mentioned once or twice that if you don't have traction you need to use speed. Well my Jeep is not nearly as well equipped as most of you guys Jeeps are, ... so I need to "compensate". Actually that is not it at all. The name simply hints at the desert racing I like to do with my "other" off road machines. Kind of a mid-life crisis I guess, because I sure used to be a whole lot better at the desert racing thing twenty+ years ago.

And I haven't decided yet whether or not I want to be annonymous either. I think I have forgotten more about Jeeping than I ever used to know, so I may just sit back and learn again, instead of trying to answer too many post.

Phil.
