Puppy Update

The puppies are 4 weeks old now. And we have them up for sale now so people can pick them they will be ready in a few weeks. They are Golden's AKC, Hips checked blah blah blah. And they are cute. And both parents owners have a jeep

They would make a great Valentines Day present for your wife Goldens are great dogs they are very sweet. The one in the first picture is my favorite I have spent a ton of time with him. When I come in the room he looks up and always comes over to the side of the box they are in he is a really sweet puppy. I'm trying to keep him but my wife and I decided we can't have a 3rd dog with a baby on the way.

I hated ours.

He chewed everything NO MATTER WHAT.

Last straw was when he started chewing holes in the drywall. Holes, as in plural.

Bye bye doggy.

I can assure you I was at my wits end with that dog. I've had a few dogs, all were very well behaved and trained.

The dog was bipolar or something.

I do not miss him one bit.

And I'm an animal lover.

yes, they are chewers. we started by caging her at night. then, we lucked out b/c i was working 6-2, and my wife was working 3-11. so the dog had very little time to be alone and get pent up aggression.

toys, lots of them. and time.

We caged too.

He figured out how to "scoot" the cage by throwing his weight around.

A crate is a great training tool for potty training and chewing"It keeps them from doing it.

Potty Training 101
Puppy eats take outside
Puppy Drinks take outside
puppy wakes up take outside.

Potty trained my Golden in 2 days and my Beagle in 3.

Chewing problems

In the morning I tell the Golden to go to Jail and she goes to the crate she thinks it's her den. When I get home from work she goes outside with the Beagle we have a fenced in yard and they ussaully are outside for about an hour they get there needed exersise sometimes I take them to a nearby Metro Park for a good hike. I take them on Jeep trips and mountain biking to get more exersise.

For chewing problems I suggest crate during day exersise at night it makes for a very happy dog and owner.

At night she sleeps with my wife and I

Class over

Until your dog learns to scoot the crate to the nearest chewable.....

Unfortunately, the Golden Retriever is a breed that has been completely destroyed by the AKC's breeding practices.

Not the AKC's fault but the breeders and owners faults. The biggest problem with the Goldens are the hips and eyes both of these are problems are easy found in a Vets office. But what has happened is that the Golden's, Lab's ect. ect. have become so popular bad breeders start to breed bad dogs and it can make the breed somewhat bad if you don't know where your dog is coming from. As I stated both Dogs male and female had there hips x-rayed and I could tell they were good. The vet showed us the x-rays for both mom and dad they looked good if they would have looked bad she would have been fixed the next day. He also showed us examples of bad dogs some even with pups inside it made me sick almost mad people could be so unreasponcable just to make a buck.

The other problem with these dogs is people in the US want a big dog. A Golden female standard is only 55-65 male is like 65-75 pounds from what I remember it's something close to that. You see all these people trying to fed there dogs more then they should to get them big then what happens the hip get stressed then there is problems again. And weight cause many other heath problems as well.

BTW my female is 55 pounds she runs alot.

I really hate to see breeding problems with dogs expessally Goldens I love the breed. The Coaker Spanial got ruined in the 70's and 80's I don't want the Golden to be the next dog to go down. They are a loving dog with a ton of energy I want to keep them that way.

It rained here yesterday - and it's cold (for us) - the highs are in the 50's

I don't surf!

Come on - take your wife and newborn (you've had the baby - right?) to Disneyland. You can fly out with the puppy and leave without it.
